Fake Webcam – Stream Video Without Actually Having a Webcam
Fake Webcam is an application developed by Web Solution Mart, a Canada-based website design firm. The Fake Webcam application weighs in at little over 3MB, meaning the download will complete in no time at all. Once downloaded, you can use Fake Webcam on your Windows-powered computer without a hitch as the software works with all versions of the Microsoft-developed operating system.
The downside is that you cannot use Fake Webcam free of charge – for as long as you want, that is. You can use to free of charge but only during the 30-day trial period. During this period you will have more than enough time to evaluate if this application is worth your hard earned money. During this trial period you will also have to contend with a nag screen and a trial logo on the output video.
There are at least two situations where Fake Webcam will come in handy:
1. You want to pull a prank on one of your friends. What the Fake Webcam application does is simulate a webcam. If you’re talking to your friend Bob for example and he has a webcam, you can see him. If he wants to see you as well, you also need a webcam. If you don’t have one, you can use Fake Webcam to trick Bob. To him it looks like you’ve turned on your webcam and he can see you. But in fact you haven’t turned on your camera – Bob is seeing what you want to show him. You can grab a video of anything and freak Bob out.
2. You want to show one of your friends a video. In this regard you need only load that video into Fake Webcam and the person on the other line will see it as if you had turned on your webcam and started playing the video in front of it.
Fake Webcam works with Yahoo! Messenger, ICQ, MSN, Camfrog and pretty much every other instant messaging application that allows you to video chat.
If you need to make like you have a webcam when in fact you do not, then get Fake Webcam. It will stream video to whoever you’re talking to, fooling that person into thinking you do have a webcam.

When I first got into chatting, I tried many others. I ended up using Fake Webcam for years.There are a couple things I would add to it if I were the developer so i emailed them and got nice responses. Great program with good support and current releases = Great choice.
